Note: All grade levels/approximate ages are suggested based on the overall content of each game’s setting, and the content it covers - each module can be altered to suit the needs of all participants. These descriptions are intended only to set the stage for each unique adventure and can help us determine exactly what kind of game you're interested in playing. If participants have any specific triggers or content areas they would like to avoid (or are curious about specific features of each setting), feel free to reach out to thebeardedmountain@gmail.com and we’ll discuss!

Golden Gorge: Fury of the Smallfolk

Intended Age: 4th Grade and up (approx. 10+ years old)

The lands surrounding Golden Gorge are green and lush, and each season’s harvest brings great prosperity to the region, if not to everyone who lives within the borders of this agrarian, mercantile city-state. The wealthiest land owners and merchants protect their wealth with an iron fist, while common workers, farmers, and tradesfolk stand alone in the face of a shadowy, warlike force that marches from the east.

Giants’ Keep: Paragons of Justice

Intended Age: 4th Grade & up (approx. 10+ years old)

Grand Duke Derwin Fostermane is dead and has left his throne empty and his bannerfolk without a leader. His great nephew and only living heir - the Archduke Elmric, a boy of only seven years - must travel overland to the towering stronghold Giants’ Keep for his coronation along a twisting road that skirts ancient, haunted forests and foreboding mountain ranges with nothing but an honor guard of 500 spears and a smattering of knights to protect the young lord.

Bilesong Bog: Freedom of the Swamp

Intended Age: 5th Grade & up (approx. 11+ years old)

It was two hundred years ago that the inmates of the infamous prison camp known as Bilesong Bog rose up and retook the massive coastal swamp complex that had once held the most dangerous and feared enemies of the Azurian Empire. Since then, the descendants of those industrious thieves, clever assassins, and stalwart freedom fighters have built a bustling city from the muck.

Azure Peak: In the Shadow of the Shattered Range

Intended Age: 5th Grade & up (approx. 11+ years old)

Long ago the Azurian Empire’s power was unmatched, and from their seat high atop the Crackfang Mountains they ruled without question or mercy. Until a great light lit the sky and a shard of the stars themselves tore through Castle Heavenfist, reducing it to rubble and ruin in an instant. Since that single (some say divine) event, the heart of the Empire was shattered, and the land surrounding the mountains was forever changed.

Litchfield Cemetery: Refuge of the Living in the Lands of the Dead

Intended Age: 6th Grade & up (approx. 12+ years old)

The hallowed grounds of Litchfield Cemetery span many thousands of acres of rolling hills stippled with grave markers, mausoleums, monuments, and peaceful groves of ancient trees. Millions have been buried there over the centuries, but beyond its iron-spiked stone walls chaos has reigned for a generation as hordes of the undead (and worse) shamble across a misty wasteland of broken cities and abandoned towns.

Powdermist Flooded: The Drowning City

Intended Age: 6th Grade & up (approx. 13+ years old)

The once mighty city of Powdermist has been nearly drowned by a centuries-long deluge - the elders say that one day, many years ago, the skies opened and the rains began to fall and have refused to stop ever since. Once the trade center of black powder and the sole producer of flintlock firearms and explosives, Powdermist’s powder supplies have long since been waterlogged and its furnaces extinguished, and precious few remain to call it home.

Fellheart Lake: Beneath the Frozen Waves

Intended Age: 7th Grade & up (approx. 13+ years old)

When the pirate fleet first appeared in the center of the Fellheart Lake, the warships and frigates of the great families who kept the peace around the enormous lake’s shores and waters set sail to meet them. But before battle could be joined, a horrible blizzard swept across the Fellheart and surrounding region, freezing its waters and crushing all but the dozens of marauding ships and the cruel reavers who pilot them.
